Our 2018 Rosé really shows the bright intense fruit and spice of Grenache. Both Grenache and Mourvèdre have the unique ability to provide body, texture, and complexity while maintaining the style of a crisp, dry Rosé.
100% Vermentino from our original planting in 2004 and a couple of small vineyard blocks grafted in 2010 and 2016. When we planted Vermentino in 2004 we had no idea it would perform so well in Dry Creek Valley. Expressive floral, appley fruit with great minerality and energy from acidity. Fermented and aged in stainless steel. Love this wine.
Vineyard block source - Winery property planted in 2004, 2010, and 2016.
Vineyard block source - Grenache A, Grenache Alban RG, Syrah 383, Mourvedre Original, Mourvedre Graft. Cuvee Foudre is our best Southern Rhone blend, and therefore one of our best wines.
2016 is turning out to be a fantastic vintage for us, as evidenced by this wine and our Sangiovese Riserva. This '16 CF has the bright fruit of the '15 combined with the texture and tannin structure of the 2012. More Chateauneuf Du Pape-like than the 2015-meaning it will age well over the next 5 to 8 years.
Vineyard block source - Benchland Syrah, original block planted in 1991. Spectacular vintage for this vineyard. Intense blackberry and cassis fruit in a richly textured wine that will age very well over the next 5 to 8 years minimum. Could it be better than the 2007? You decide.
