New Wine Releases
This 2020 Barbera is a classic Unti, meaning it has dark color, exotic fruit, and great texture. This style is like the full-bodied Barberas from Italy’s DOCGs in Asti and Nizza—deep color, bright fruit, and solid acidity. While this 2020 is one of our most concentrated Barberas we’ve ever made, I would still drink now through 2025
40% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre, 30% Syrah
Cuvée Foudre, our version of a Chateaunef du Pape-like Rhone blend, is consistently our most critically acclaimed wine. We use our best lots of Grenache, Mourvedre, and Syrah and age them in a 620 gallon large oak cask the French call a "Foudre", which preserves fruit and vineyard character. 2019 was one of the best vintages we've had for Grenache and, especially Mourvedre, giving this wine a depth of fruit, spice and tannin structure found in our favorite French counterparts. Is the '19 our best Cuvée Foudre yet? You can decide. For me it is. It will easily age 5 to 8 years.

79% Grenache, 13% Syrah, 8% Mourvédre
2019 was one of the best vintages we've ever had for our Southern Rhone Blends. Warm and dry harvest conditions really helped our Grenache, and especially Mourvèdre, develop outstanding aromas, flavors, concentration, and structure. The Mourvédre really gives this vintage a French-like (baby CDP) character-texture and complexity. Similar to 2016 this wine will age nicely over the next 4-6 years.
2019 was an excellent vintage for our Southern European varietals, and the Montepulciano exceeds even our high standards for this variety. The fruit is backed by excellent richness, tannin structure and the right dose of acidity. This almost Cabernet-like wine will live a long life (6-8 years) if you ask it to. However if you can't wait that long it will serve well with robust food.
Our West Terrace Sangiovese is the result of our founder George Unti's great wine muse, the top class Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino he discovered throughout his trips back to the homeland in the 1980's. The west terrace of this vineyard is our best lot, showing dark color, intense cherry fruit and great tannin structure. The 2019 West Terrace has more precision, complexity and balance than most years, making it even more true to its Tuscan roots. Try to hold off from drinking this wine too quickly. It will reward you in several years, and last much longer if you so desire.

This Syrah comes from our oldest vineyard located on our Benchland property. Planted in 1991, these vines consistently render small, thick skinned berries which provide distinct blackberry, bay leaf, and savory flavors that are different from any of our other Syrah blocks. It is also our most structured Syrah, which should age well for at least 10 years. 275 cases produced.
