New Wine Releases
This 100% Syrah comes from 4 small vineyard blocks planted on our winery estate property in 1998. The clones are 174, 877, 383 and our Shiraz #1 clone planted near Dry Creek. the cool August weather in 2017 allowed us to make a Syrah in the style of a Crozes Hermitage or St. Joseph, meaning it has deep color, blueberry and blackberry fruit, with a hint of pepper and structure from tannin and acidity. It is an excellent example of how you can make compelling Syrah when you limit the yields in the vineyard. Don't let the expressive fruit fool you, this wine will age well for many years (4 to 7). Unfined and unfiltered.

2017 marks our 20th vintage making Zinfandel from our estate. This 2017 Zin embodies how much we have learned over the years. It comes from our Primitivo-clone vineyard planted next to the winery in 1998. Vine age, combined with our crop-thinning regimen renders a deep and structured Zin. Additionally, we blend Petite Sirah for body and structure, while we use Barbera to add freshness from acidity. I'm really proud of this wine and how far we have come since 1997.

Dry Creek Valley has a Mediterranean climate similar to Southern France and Spain where Grenache Blanc is commonly grown. We harvest our Grenache Blanc at moderate sugars to acheive a more mineral-driven version that we prefer over the opulent style of Grenache Blanc that is more prevalent in California, especially on the Central Coast. This wine was fermented and aged in concrete tanks which preserved bright aromas of green apple, lemon oil, and wet stone. It is crisp and textured on the palate with high natural acidity.
Vineyard block source - Grenache Blanc winery property, planted in 2004 and 2016.
This Southern Rhône-style wine is 79% Grenache, 15% Syrah, and 6% Mourvedre The primary component of this blend comes from a 2.9 acre block, planted in 1998 to three selections of Grenache Noir, using budwood originally obtained from Tablas Creek and Alban Vineyards. These selections, originally from Châteauneuf-du-Pape give darker color and better structure than the majority of Grenache planted in California.
The 2016 growing season provided extra hang time for the fruit, thanks to a cooler-than-normal August. The vintage, combined with our aggressive crop-thinning regimen produced a Grenache that is dark, with intense aromas and flavors of raspberry, cherry, blackberry, tar, licorice, pepper and dried herbs (enough with the descriptors!). Our 2016 Grenache has plenty of body and structure to age at least 4 to 6 additional years.

We planted Barbera in 1998, and now have 4 total acres in production, all from our winery property. Our selective approach in the vineyard combined with a great growing season resulted in a wine that resembles high-end Barbera from Asti. This wine jumps out of the glass with juicy dark berry fruit. On the palate it is energetic with driving acidity and silky tannin.
